Dennis Collins and Steve Bechard will be rubbing tires, nerf bars, and whatever else that gets in the way in the hour long Pro class session on Saturday during the quad only race @ 1:00 pm. :o

Dennis and I TORE it Up in Prineville racing in the AA (pro) Class on Saturday. Dennis got the jump on me at the start when my LTR did not start on the first hit of the button. The first lap was crazy not knowing what the course had in store for us and finding out just how Dusty riding behind a quad can be in a GP race. We rocked the first half lap and came back by the spectator area on the Motocross track portion (the best part of the course) and wow'd some of the crowd when we jumped all of the jumps the bikes were not doing. The first full lap was ..........How do I say it.... ROCKY AS CRAP AND DUST like no other I have seen. Dennis came into the first check point with me right on his heals, it is tough to slow down to 5 mph when you are in race mode. Dennis was scanned and I scanned right behind him as we ripped out of the EZUP and headed to the first corner. This was the only time I got right beside Dennis and tried to pass. Dennis, thinking about Straddleline a few weeks earlier, took one of my moves on him and used it against me. So instead of a mud hole I was just gently pushed into a tree...... Good damn times I tell you!
Second time around the dusty rock pit we came into the check point with Perry standing there with a water bottle waiting for the TEAM PRO CALIBER boys. Dennis went by and slowed for the check point. I on the other hand was in race mode still and looking at Perry blew into the check point going way too fast. I was scolded by the offical and told I was being held 5 min....... I watched Dennis ride off into the sunset as I was calmly trying to convince the offical that I was really needing to go. I was not held for 5 minutes but however long it was it seemed like I could have taken in a movie. Although I was held up it was almost a blessing because now I could ride and see at the same time. No dust, just determination to chase my friend down once again. Dennis rode a great race and am happy to have come in second to him because without good friends that push each other we would not have any good campfire stories to tell.
After it was all said and done Dennis finished first with me a mear 7 seconds behind him. We checked the overall times and Dennis and I were over a minute per lap faster on the course then the AA dirtbike guys were! Quads are finally starting to get some respect among the dirtbike crowd! Just want to thank Dennis, Perry, Ethan, Karen, Michelle, mom and of course PRO CALIBER of BEND for all your help and all the fun!
